ENCOUNTER I: Metallic Interface brings together artistic and design practices rooted in the body, its movements, limitations, knowledge, and capacity to relate.

The exhibition unfolds through a series of encounters: between people, materials, and objects in use.

Rather than presenting disciplines as separate, the works are connected through collaboration and exchange. Photography, metalwork, jewellery, and design meet as interdependent ways of thinking and making. What emerges is a shared language shaped through gesture, material, and experience.

Metal runs through the exhibition both physically and conceptually. It appears in welded structures, jewellery, and display elements, while carrying associations of strength, resistance, an transformation. At the same time, the works open the material to new perspectives, questioning access and shifting its meaning. Communication extends beyond words. It takes place through bodies, forms, touch, and presence. A photograph can hold a gesture, jewellery can shape self-perception, and objects can enable participation. Design and artistic practice meet here at the interface between people and their environment.

Questions of visibility and inclusion run throughout: Who is represented? Who is addressed? Who is able to participate? The works respond not abstractly, but through concrete forms, creating access, shifting perspectives, and rethinking everyday objects and images. Set within Magistrale Space, the exhibition becomes a shared social situation. The opening, developed in collaboration with Saint Charles Apotheke, is part of this encounter, where objects are not only viewed, but used, and where the boundary between exhibition and lived experience begins to blur.

ENCOUNTER I understands the exhibition itself as an interface: a space where practices, bodies, and perspectives come into relation and where new forms of connection can emerge.
